A White Rug For Every Style

When you are designing the interior of a room in your home or office, flooring and floor coverings play an extremely significant role. If done correctly, flooring will give your room warmth and beauty. Hardwood and tile flooring have become exceedingly popular due to their ease in maintenance but, with this type of flooring, rugs are important both to warm up a cold floor and to protect your expensive investment in areas of heavy wear. Hardwood and natural stone floors like travertine tile can sometimes, be very busy with lots of color elements and natural patterns in the material. A white rug is a great way to add that touch of warmth, with a more neutral tone, against a busier backdrop.

You can find white rugs in every shape, style and a few color variations from pure white to cream and you can buy them as small as 3 feet in width all the way up to 15 feet. It all depends on what you need. Most white area rugs are reasonably priced and this means that if you tire of the rug, it is easy to replace it with a different pattern, color or style.

Frequent, daily vacuuming will keep your white rug looking fresh but it will probably need occasional cleaning when it starts looking grubby. At least this is the case if you are careful not to walk on it in dirty shoes and spill drinks on it! If you choose a washable rug, it will be much easier to maintain, especially if it is small enough to pop into the washing machine.

A white rug can be a great addition to a home where color and patterns abound. It will add that touch of neutrality needed, while giving your room the warmth you desire. The drawback to anything white is its ability to collect dirt and the need to keep it clean. For people with pets who shed or young children who play on the carpeting, it may not be the best choice for your home decor. You need to look around and make the best choice for you and your family.
