There are some basic information and techniques to look for when it comes to breastfeeding diet that can make the experience become satisfying. Parents should take childbirth preparation classes with zeal, the same way they should take breastfeeding classes to learn about breastfeeding diet, positioning, latch on, on how to give the baby what he/she needs among other things. One thing about breastfeeding is you cannot know it all because some have been teaching about the subject but they still learn new things about it.
One thing a doula might like is the first experience of helping the baby breastfeed. The mother and baby are left together and the baby shows he/she is ready to breastfeed. You seize a moment like that when everyone is not expecting and be the first person to touch and hold the baby. A new nursing mother should know that in the first few days of breastfeeding her breasts have never had such stimulation before from the baby and she need to get used to it with time. The first few breastfeeding experiences would be a bit discomfort.
New mothers would start feeling comfort with breastfeeding after 3 weeks. Nursing mothers should not participate in losing weight while breastfeeding until four weeks are over. A few tips that can help in breastfeeding is letting the nipples to be dried by air after breastfeeding the baby, use of ointments to treat sore nipples.
The first few 2-3 weeks should be used by a new mother to rest, get to know her baby behavior and start off breastfeeding in a good start instead of thinking about losing weight while breastfeeding. Once a nursing mother has been accustomed to her baby and new environmental conditions that she could be sensitive to, that’s when she can be ready for visitors but not many in numbers as they could drain a mother’s energy. A nursing mother’s energy should be concentrated in breastfeeding and taking care of the baby.
